Current Activity
In order to make way for the new Transbay Transit Center at First and Mission streets in downtown San Francisco, the Transbay Joint Powers Authority (TJPA) needed to demolish the former Transbay Terminal facility and bus ramps, and must relocate utilities in the project area. Demolition activities are now complete. Utility relocation began in October 2010 and is ongoing. Also, beginning in Spring 2011 is foundation work for the new Transbay Transit Center.
The Transbay Terminal closed on August 6, 2010. Bus operations have relocated to the Transbay Temporary Terminal.
