The first phase of the Transbay Transit Center Program commenced in December 2008 with the groundbreaking of the Temporary Terminal; construction of the Temporary Terminal is complete and the facility has been in operation for more than three years. Demolition of the former Transbay Terminal and bus ramp commenced in August 2010 and was complete in 2011. Construction of the new Transit Center began in 2011 and is scheduled to be completed in 2017.
